We Live in a Information Age

The concept of time span is from 1969AD to the future in Europe, America and developed countries. China and some developing countries think information age is from 1984AD to the future and 15 years later than Europe and America. People often use the most representative production tools to represent a historical period, the development of human civilization: the Stone Age, the Red Copper Age, the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, the Steam Age, the Electrical Age, and the Atomic Age. Using this mode of thinking to look at the 20th century, you will say that in the past 100 years, mankind has moved from the atomic age to the information age.

As the appearance and popularize of information age, the influence of information to us is gradually of great importance. The amount of information, the speed of information spreading and processing and the degree of information application are all surging quickly. The development of information technology propose a new challenge in aspects of studying, mastering and utilizing knowledge. Because of the application of computer technology and network technology, our study speed accelerate constantly, in other words, from the age of digital processing to the age of microcomputer and networked, our study speed become more and more fast, it also requires us that our manage model should adapt the new characteristic.

In the 1970s and 1980s, the second technological revolution was launched in the first half of the last century, with the widespread use of electricity and the invention of internal combustion engines as the main symbol. Generators, electric motors, electric lights, telephones, telegraphs, movies, cars, airplanes, and steel are important landmarks of this era, and these products are still an indispensable part of our daily lives.

The new scientific and technological revolution is marked by the breakthrough and rapid development of the electronic information industry, which mainly includes five major fields: information technology, bioengineering technology, new material technology, marine technology and space technology. Transistors and large-scale integrated circuits have greatly reduced the cost of information dissemination. As a result, human society has entered the information age from the industrial age. These new technologies are fundamentally changing our social and economic life. The tremendous advancement in science and technology and the rapid development of industrial production have not only made enterprises larger and larger, but also concentrated capital and production in the hands of a few large enterprises.
